BREAKING: PDP sweeps Enugu council elections
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured victory in all chairmanship positions in the local council elections held on Saturday in Enugu State.
Prof. Christian Ngwu, Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), announced the results, commending the commission for conducting a free and fair election.
PDP chairman-elects celebrated their victories, with Hon. Aka Eze Aka of Udenu Local Government promising to initiate a “massive agricultural revolution” and focus on infrastructure improvements.
Similarly, Greg Anyaegbudike of Oji River Local Government emphasized his commitment to youth empowerment through job creation and skills development programs.
Notably, no opposition candidates were present during the results’ declaration, raising questions about the election’s competitive nature.
The PDP’s sweeping win aligns with Governor Peter Mbah’s agenda, reinforcing his influence and policies in the state.
The election results are seen as a boost for democracy in Enugu, despite the absence of opposition participation during the final stages.
