Breaking: Reps Deputy Chief Whip Adewunmi Onanuga is dead

The Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Honourable Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, has passed away, leaving the National Assembly and her constituents in mourning.

The news of her demise emerged on Tuesday evening. Onanuga, a dedicated member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), represented the Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency of Ogun State and was serving her second term as a lawmaker.

During the 9th Assembly, she chaired the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development. Her leadership earned her the appointment as Deputy Chief Whip following the inauguration of the 10th House of Representatives, a position she held until her death.

Born on December 2, 1965, Hon. Onanuga was 59 years old. Her passing marks a significant loss to the National Assembly and her community, where she was known for her dedication to public service and advocacy for women’s development.
