The Supreme Court has dismissed a case brought forward by some state Attorneys General challenging the constitutionality of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Act.

The initial suit, filed by Attorneys General from 16 states, sought to abolish the EFCC as a national anti-corruption agency.

During the course of the proceedings, several states chose to withdraw from the case, while others requested to be added as co-plaintiffs. The decision marks a significant victory for the EFCC, reaffirming its legal establishment and role in combating financial crimes in Nigeria.
