BREAKING: Tinubu arrive in Benue, heads to Yelwata

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, on Thursday afternoon as part of renewed efforts to tackle the violent attacks that have claimed numerous lives in the state.

The president landed at the Makurdi Airport, situated within the Nigerian Air Force Tactical Air Command Base, around 12:58 p.m.

As part of his visit, Tinubu is expected to tour the Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area, one of the communities worst affected by the recent coordinated attacks. He will also meet with stakeholders in the state to deliberate on measures to address the crisis and restore peace.

To mark the president’s visit and allow residents to participate in the engagements, the Benue State Government declared Wednesday a public holiday.
