BREAKING: Tinubu arrives in Maiduguri to condole with victims of flood

President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri to extend condolences to the people of Borno State following the devastating Alau Dam flood disaster.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the President touched down around 3:15 pm and was welcomed by Governor Babagana Zulum.

Tinubu is scheduled to visit the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kaneni, before proceeding to one of the camps to address the displaced victims of the flood.

The flood, which struck on Monday, submerged nearly half of Maiduguri city, leading to significant loss of lives and property.

To aid the victims, the Borno State Government has established 36 camps to shelter thousands of displaced residents. Further details are expected to be released.
