BREAKING Tinubu meets NSA, Defence Chief over rising insecurity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a crucial meeting with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The closed-door session, reportedly convened at the President’s request, began around 3 pm when the two top security chiefs arrived at the State House.
This marks President Tinubu’s first official meeting with key security figures since his return to the country on Monday after spending over two weeks in France and the United Kingdom, a trip that sparked criticism from opposition leaders amid worsening security conditions at home.
While it remains uncertain if other members of the country’s security architecture are also part of the meeting, sources suggest the gathering is aimed at addressing the renewed wave of violence in Plateau and Benue states.
Within the past three weeks alone, over 100 lives have been lost in attacks by unidentified armed men, prompting nationwide concern.
The presidency is yet to release an official statement on the agenda or outcomes of the meeting, but political observers believe it is part of urgent efforts to devise new strategies for tackling the security challenges threatening parts of the country.
