Bundesliga: Marmoush seals Frankfurt win amid Man City links
Omar Marmoush’s first-half goal secured a 1-0 victory for Eintracht Frankfurt over St. Pauli in a Bundesliga clash on Saturday.
The Egyptian forward’s performance comes amid mounting speculation about a potential transfer to Manchester City.
Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Kroesche, acknowledged prior to the game that “a club had got in contact” regarding Marmoush, with reports from Sky Germany suggesting the player has already agreed to personal terms with the Premier League champions.
The decisive moment came in the 32nd minute when Marmoush, playing against his former club, showcased his skill by turning inside the box and firing a powerful shot into the top corner.
This marked Marmoush’s 14th goal in 16 Bundesliga matches this season, placing him level with Harry Kane at the top of the league’s scoring charts.
The 25-year-old has also contributed eight assists, further solidifying his reputation as one of Europe’s most in-form players.
“We did plenty to keep a clean sheet today,” said Frankfurt captain Kevin Trapp.
“There’s definitely a few things we can improve on,” the goalkeeper added.
Victory kept Frankfurt in third place, six points behind leaders Bayern who visit Borussia Moenchengladbach later Saturday.
