Columbia 2024: Falconets set for round of 16 clash with Japan

Nigeria’s Falconets are gearing up to take on Japan in the Round of 16 at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, according to a report by News360 Nigeria.

Japan secured their spot in the knockout stages following a 2-0 victory over Austria on Monday, with Maya Hijjikata netting both goals to propel her team forward.

The win ensured Japan topped Group E, leaving Austria in second place.

Meanwhile, the Falconets finished second in Group D, trailing former champions Germany, setting up the anticipated clash with the Japanese side.

The encounter with Japan will hold in Bogota on Thursday.
