The lawmaker representing Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency in Cross River State, Mr. Peter Akpanke, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akpanke made his defection known on Friday during a media briefing organised by the Cross River APC caucus in the National Assembly, held in Calabar.

Speaking at the event, the federal lawmaker commended the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, expressing satisfaction with their governance over the past two years.

Akpanke also threw his weight behind their potential re-election bids.

“I am up and in support of anything that will move the state and nation forward,” Akpanke stated while explaining his decision to join the APC.
