The Cross River State Government has declared Thursday and Friday as public holidays, allowing residents ample time to prepare for the local council elections scheduled for Saturday, November 1.

This announcement was made through a statement from the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Bassey Otu, Mr. Nsa Gill, on Wednesday.

The two-day holiday aims to provide citizens, particularly those traveling from Calabar to other parts of the state, an opportunity to participate in the electoral process.

Gill encouraged voters to use the holiday to fulfill their civic duties, urging residents to actively engage in the electoral process and ensure their voices are heard.
