Davido, Odumodublvck, Rema, Tems shine at 2025 Headies Awards (Full List)

The 17th edition of the Headies Awards took place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, where some of the biggest names in Nigerian music were celebrated.

The colourful night saw major wins for top stars like Zerry DL, Tems, Flavour, Rema, and Davido.

The glamorous event attracted famous faces from the world of entertainment and politics.

Among those present were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux with his wife Priscilla, popular actress Nancy Isime, Big Brother Naija star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, also known as BamBam, nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest, and 2021 BBNaija winner White Money.

Also seen at the event were Collins Enebeli Ajereh, father of Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy, and Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso.

At the end of the evening, Zerry DL was named Rookie of the Year, while Tems won Best Recording of the Year for her song “Burning.” Flavour’s hit “Big Baller” secured the award for Afrobeats Single of the Year. Rema, who continues to grow as one of Nigeria’s biggest music exports, took home Afrobeats Album of the Year for HEIS. Davido was honoured as Best Digital Artiste of the Year.

The Soundtrack of the Year award went to “A Tribe Called Judah Soundtrack” by TCJ and Abbey Wonder, while Liya won Best Vocal Performance (Female) for her track “I’m Done.” Lojay was announced as the Best Vocal Performer (Male) for his work on “Billions.”

Special Recognition Awards were presented to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Alex Okosi, and Amaju Pinnick for their contributions to the growth of entertainment in Nigeria. The Humanitarian Awards went to Temitola Adekunle Johnson and Michelle Mukoro, also known as King Mitchy.

Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, popularly called Qing Madi, was recognised as Songwriter of the Year for her song “Vision.” The Producer of the Year title was awarded to London for the song “OZEBA.”

In the category for Music Video of the Year, Director Pink emerged winner with the video for “EGWU.” Chike and the late Mohbad claimed the Headies’ Viewers’ Choice award for the same track.

Odumodublvck was named Headies Next Rated, beating Qing Madi, Shallipopi, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi. In the East African category, Juma Jux of Tanzania won Best East African Artiste of the Year, ahead of Bien from Kenya, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, Bruce Melodie from Rwanda, and Uganda’s Azawi.
