Famous Nigerian skit maker, Denilson Igwe has shared the challenges he has encountered since parting ways with Mark Angel Comedy.

Known for its engaging content and relatable humor, Mark Angel Comedy has been a significant force in the Nigerian entertainment industry since its inception in 2013, amassing over a billion views and nine million subscribers on YouTube.

Denilson, who gained fame through his association with the channel, expressed that his social media presence has faced stagnation in the wake of his departure.

This statement sheds light on the challenges many creators face when transitioning from a collaborative platform to building an individual brand.

In his latest interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Igwe stated that his social media pages were hacked the week he left the comedy group in 2019.

“They hacked my YouTube, Facebook and Instagram pages the week I left Mark Angel Comedy

“Since that time, I was told to do something I do not understand but the pages do not go forward or backward. Since 2019 till now, the social media pages have not added one follower. It is just there like that.”

News360 Nigeria reports that Igwe had earlier claimed he is the founder of the comedy channel and accused Mark Angel of monetizing it without his consent.
