Former Republican President Donald Trump appears close to securing a second term in the White House, as he approaches the 270 electoral votes needed to claim victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

Early Wednesday, US media projections indicated Trump had won 266 electoral votes, following crucial victories in key battleground states, including Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, two of which went Democratic in the previous election.

Fox News has already called the race in Trump’s favor, projecting his victory. Harris, meanwhile, has accumulated 195 electoral votes, winning Democratic strongholds such as California, New York, and Washington, D.C.

The projections from major networks, including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC/NBC News, ABC, and CBS, reveal a near-complete count of electoral votes in favor of Trump, with Harris needing significant gains in the remaining undecided states to change the trajectory of the race.
