Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, concluded their impressive run in the Paris Olympics with a 74-88 loss to the United States in the quarter-finals.

Despite the defeat, the team made history by securing their first-ever win at the Olympics and becoming the first African team to reach the quarter-finals in Olympic basketball.

In the match against the USA, Nigeria fell behind in the first three quarters with scores of 17-26, 16-26, and 15-24. However, Rena Wakama’s squad showed resilience by winning the final quarter 26-12. D’Tigress’s performance at the Olympics has been widely celebrated, as they broke several records and raised the profile of African basketball on the global stage.
