ECOWAS chiefs of Defence staff convene in Abuja for strategic meeting
The Chiefs of Defence Staff from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are currently gathered at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja for a crucial meeting.
The session is chaired by Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, who also serves as the chairman of the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff.
Key figures present at the meeting include Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence, Ahmed Lawan, Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, a representative of the National Security Adviser, and various service chiefs. Additionally, Chiefs of Defence Staff from ECOWAS countries are attending, with the exception of representatives from Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger.
