The polling unit of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the Idinrio community, Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area, remained without officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as of this morning.

The usually vibrant polling center, located at Okaegben Ward 1, polling unit 3, was described as eerily calm by a Channels Television correspondent on the ground.

No sign of INEC officials or other political stakeholders was present, despite the anticipation of Dr. Ighodalo casting his vote there.

As of 9:26 a.m., according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), voters had already gathered in clusters, awaiting the arrival of INEC personnel and election materials.

Security personnel were also stationed at the venue, patiently waiting for the electoral process to begin.

A source reported to News360 Nigeria around 10:00 a.m. that heavy rainfall, which began at 6:30 a.m., may have contributed to the delay in INEC officials reaching the polling unit on time.

Despite this, voters and security officials remain hopeful for the arrival of election personnel.
