Edo Queens secured their spot in the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over hosts Inter D’Abidjan on Tuesday night.

Emem Essien opened the scoring for Edo Queens in the seventh minute, giving her team an early advantage. Blessing Illivieda extended the lead with a well-taken finish in the 34th minute.

Inter D’Abidjan managed to pull one back shortly after the break, as Adjoua Niamien converted a penalty in the 46th minute. However, it wasn’t enough to overturn Edo Queens’ lead.

In the other semi-final, Benin Republic’s Ainonvi defeated Etincelle of Burkina Faso 1-0. Edo Queens will now face Ainonvi in the final at the Stade de la Paix on Friday.
