The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended three individuals allegedly linked to a fraudulent scheme involving Q-Net and an illegal university operating in Abuja.

In a statement on Friday, the Commission named the suspects as Olaniyan Joshua, Oyetunde Akano, and Victor Oluwale. They were arrested on Wednesday, May 1, 2025, and are currently undergoing interrogation.

The EFCC disclosed that the suspects operated under the business name “Mighty Infinity Millionaire Limited,” falsely posing as representatives of Q-Net, an international e-commerce and direct selling company.

Q-Net has, however, publicly denied any connection with the suspects or their fraudulent activities.

Further investigations by the Commission revealed that the suspects also ran a fake university where lectures were held under trees and makeshift shelters.

The illegal institution offered fake Bachelor of Science degrees in courses including Medicine, Nursing, Cybersecurity, Computer Studies, and Geology, while claiming affiliation with Quest International University, Malaysia.

According to the EFCC, the suspects charged unsuspecting victims registration fees ranging between N1.2 million and N1.3 million, fraudulently amassing hundreds of millions of naira from students.

The Commission recalled that on March 24, 2025, it had earlier raided a similar illegal setup known as “Q-Net University” located at Compensation Layout in Gwagwalada, Abuja, where 133 suspects were taken into custody.
