On Wednesday, June 6, 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detained five individuals for suspected internet fraud in Abuja.
The accused internet fraudsters (Yahoo guys) were arrested following a clandestine operation at the Ipent 7 Estate in Gwarimpa, Abuja, based on intelligence gathered regarding their illegal activities on the estate.
A terse statement issued by the EFCC on Thursday, said among the items seized during the operation were a white Toyota Hilux, an ash-colored 2014 model Mercedes Benz GLK 350, and a white 2017 model Mercedes Benz GLE 43 AMG.
The anti-graft commission said the suspects will face charges in court once the investigations are completed.
