Enekwechi qualifies for shot put final at Paris 2024 Olympics

Nigerian shot putter, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi has advanced to the final of the men’s shot put event at the Paris 2024 Olympics as reported by News360 Nigeria.

Enekwechi had to compete in the qualification round, where he was placed in Group B. The top 12 performers in both Group A and B would advance to the final, and Enekwechi managed to secure his spot after finishing fifth overall in his group.

His best throw in the qualification round was 21.13 meters, which was enough to see him through to the final.

The African champion is the first Nigerian to make it to the final of any event at the ongoing games.

It would be recalled that Enekwechi made it to the final of the shot put event four years ago in Tokyo.

He would be hoping to make it to the podium by finishing in the top three.
