In a thrilling encounter at Anfield, Liverpool mounted an impressive comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Brighton, climbing to the top of the Premier League.

The Reds’ win coincided with shock defeats for title rivals Manchester City and Arsenal, enhancing the Anfield atmosphere.

Brighton took control in the first half, with Ferdi Kadioglu’s powerful 16-yard strike finding the net via the inside of the post, putting the visitors ahead and silencing the home crowd.

However, Liverpool turned the tables in the second half, starting with Cody Gakpo’s remarkable left-wing cross that drifted directly into the net, leveling the score.

This marked Gakpo’s third goal against Brighton in just four days, following his Carabao Cup double.

Moments later, Mohamed Salah produced a moment of brilliance, curling a stunning strike into the far corner, giving Liverpool a 2-1 lead.

The Reds’ defense and keeper Caoimhin Kelleher held firm, with Kelleher denying a strong effort from Georginio Rutter, helping secure the victory.

Under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool have now won 13 of their 15 matches, moving two points clear of Manchester City, who surprisingly fell to Bournemouth, while Arsenal suffered a setback against Newcastle.
