Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray handed Tottenham their first Europa League defeat of the season in a dominant 3-1 win in Istanbul.

Spurs were reduced to 10 men after teenage forward Will Lankshear was sent off for two yellow cards in the 60th minute.

Despite his early goal for Tottenham, Lankshear’s dismissal saw Spurs lose control of the match.

The hosts took the lead early when Yunus Akgun volleyed in from 20 yards in the 6th minute.

Tottenham equalized through Lankshear, who scored from close range, but their defensive errors allowed Galatasaray to regain the upper hand.

Osimhen’s first goal came after a defensive mistake from Spurs’ Radu Dragusin, and his second was set up by Dries Mertens.

A late goal from substitute Dominic Solanke offered a glimmer of hope for Tottenham, but Galatasaray were the deserved victors.

Despite the defeat, Spurs still sit in a strong position to qualify from their group with nine points from four games. However, the Turkish side’s victory sees them move ahead of Tottenham in the table.
