Ex-Kogi Gov Yahaya Bello appears in Court for Bail hearing over alleged N110bn fraud
Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, appeared at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja on Tuesday for the hearing of his bail application, alongside his co-defendants.
The proceedings were presided over by Justice Maryanne Anenih at the Maitama court.
Bello, who has been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since his arraignment on November 27, was brought to court under heavy security. The EFCC had previously declared him wanted in connection with allegations of money laundering.
The court is expected to rule on the bail applications of Bello and his co-defendants, Umar Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalam Hudu. The three are facing a 16-count charge filed by the EFCC on behalf of the Federal Government, under case number FCT/HC/CR/778/24.
The charges include allegations of criminal breach of trust involving over N110 billion.
