Ex-Presidential Aspirant, Pastor Tunde Bakare visits Tinubu in Lagos

The founder of Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Wednesday, June 4, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his Lagos residence.
Reports indicate that the meeting centered on key national issues and the current state of affairs in the country.
Pastor Bakare, known for his outspoken views on governance and national reforms, had earlier in April publicly urged President Tinubu to take swift and strategic actions to address Nigeria’s mounting challenges.
During an address at his church in Lagos, Bakare emphasized the need for a “coordinated programme” to restore stability and rebuild public confidence in government leadership.
It will be recalled that Bakare was the vice-presidential candidate to Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 presidential election under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). In 2022, he also declared his presidential ambition, purchasing the ₦100 million nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, at the party’s primaries, he garnered no votes, while President Bola Tinubu emerged victorious, securing 1,217 delegate votes to clinch the ticket.
