FCCPC halts MultiChoice price hike, orders status quo until investigation is completed

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has instructed MultiChoice Nigeria to maintain its current subscription prices until the ongoing investigation into its proposed price hike is completed.

This directive follows MultiChoice’s request for an extension regarding its appearance before the Commission, which was granted.

According to a statement by the commission, multichoice Nigeria is now required to attend the rescheduled hearing on March 6, 2025, with all relevant officers and a detailed response.

FCCPC noted that maintaining the status quo on pricing is essential to prevent any potential consumer harm during this period.
