Fertilizer trailer hijacked, looted by hoodlums in Adamawa

On Friday night, individuals posing as participants in the End Bad Governance protest hijacked and looted a trailer loaded with fertilizer intended for Demsa local government area.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke with Vanguard, the trailer was parked near the palace of the area’s Paramount Ruler when the looting took place. The vehicle had been waiting for hours to receive instructions from the council chairman regarding where to unload the consignment.

The source explained that as the trailer remained covered and stationary, tensions rose among bystanders who began speculating about its contents.

” Before you know people started calling themselves and in a less distant time, a crowd had gathered and the looting spree commenced uninterrupted.

“As the looting progressed, other people from far and near got the wind of it and before you know the trailer load was emptied”, the source said.

The trailer load of fertilizer was sent to Demsa local government area by Governor Fintiri’s administration to boost harvest and reduce economic hardship.
