FG delegation arrives Saudi Arabia ahead of Dantata’s funeral

A delegation from the Federal Government of Nigeria has arrived in Saudi Arabia to receive the remains of respected elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, ahead of his burial in the holy city of Madinah.

The late Dantata, aged 94, passed away in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Saturday.

The high-powered delegation, which left Nigeria late Sunday, touched down in Madinah in the early hours of Monday.

It is led by the Minister of Defence and former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.

Also part of the team are the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and the Minister of State for Housing Development, Honourable Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.

Prominent Islamic clerics accompanying the delegation include Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, the Imam of Dantata Mosque in Abuja.

The Nigerian Consulate General in Jeddah, led by Ambassador Muazzam Ibrahim Nayaya, has also been actively involved in arrangements for the funeral, which is scheduled to take place later today, Monday.
