A devastating flood has severed the road linking Saminaka town to five agrarian communities, including Marjire, in Kaduna State’s Lere Local Government Area.

The collapse of a key bridge on the outskirts of Saminaka has left these communities isolated from the local government headquarters, crippling economic activities.

Governor Uba Sani, through his Chief of Staff, Malam Liman Sani Kila, assured immediate intervention, pledging to reconstruct the damaged road and bridge, while also providing relief materials to the affected communities.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to rural development and economic recovery.

Lere Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mathew Bulus Gambo, expressed gratitude for the government’s swift response, emphasizing the impact of the disaster on the local economy. The Flood Impact Assessment Committee also inspected other flood-damaged areas, including Wawan Rafi Village and parts of Saminaka township.
