For Single Ladies: 5 Safety tips you must keep in mind when lodging with a Male companion in a Hotel

For single women who might find themselves sharing a hotel room with a male companion, whether a friend, colleague, or acquaintance, it’s essential to stay cautious and maintain your personal safety and dignity.

I will work you through five important tips to always keep in mind:

1. Watch Your Drink:

Never leave your drink unattended. If you need to use the bathroom, finish your drink first. Should you return and he offers you another, politely decline and claim you’re feeling a bit unwell. If you must drink, pour something you’re sure of yourself, preferably water.

Only relax fully around someone you completely trust.

2. Avoid Changing Clothes in His Presence:

Do not undress in front of him, especially if he’s lying on the bed fiddling with his phone.

It’s safer to change in the bathroom or while bathing.

If you must do it in the room, turn off the lights and avoid standing near the television screen which might reflect your image.

3. Let Him Handle Room Issues:

If the air conditioner isn’t working, there’s no water, or any other issue arises in the room, let him be the one to call reception or go down himself.

Avoid going to the front desk with statements like, “My man is complaining about the AC.”

Remember, you’re not his wife and such familiarity is unnecessary.

4. Sort Out Your Food Ahead:

Buy your meals before checking into the hotel or place an order directly from the hotel kitchen if affordable.

Only agree to go out for food if it’s a short walk away or if a car is available.

It’s best to limit unnecessary movement around the hotel lobby to avoid drawing unwanted attention.

5. Avoid Substances That Alter Your State:

Don’t take weed, brownies, or any suspicious substances just to “get in the mood.”

If you’ve decided to be in that room, you know why you are there, and what will happen. Lol.

You might not know what’s inside those items, and if anything goes wrong, maybe you run mad after taking substance, no one, not even a prophet, will save you.

Bonus Tip:

Never steal from your host.

Do your business and go home.

Respect personal boundaries and belongings at all times

These guidelines aren’t about promoting fear but ensuring women stay safe, smart, and in control of their environment in any situation.
