Former Manchester United youth coach, Jonathan Hill, has expressed interest in managing Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles.

Currently, former international Augustine Eguavoen recently led the team to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) remains intent on appointing an expatriate coach to helm the squad.

Hill’s potential appointment could signal a strategic shift for the Super Eagles as they aim to enhance their performance on the global stage.

Hill recently left his role as assistant coach of Rotherham United.

The gaffer has already submitted his application to the NFF.

“This is a role I very much fancy because of its demanding nature and the push to deliver top results,” Hill told Sports Boom.

“I’ve always known Nigerian players to be athletic, technical, and full of energy.

“There’s a great talent pool here, and I believe in nurturing young players who fit the team’s philosophy.”
