Former Moroccan international Abdelaziz Barrada has passed away at 35, as confirmed by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Marseille, his former clubs in France.

“Rest in peace Abdelaziz,” Marseille shared on X, while PSG expressed “great sadness” over his passing.

Barrada, born in France, began his football journey at PSG before joining Getafe in Spain’s La Liga.

His career later took him to Al Jazira in Abu Dhabi, then back to France with Marseille in 2014. After two years, Barrada returned to the Gulf.

Representing Morocco, Barrada earned 28 caps between 2012 and 2015, scoring four goals. Notably, he competed in the 2012 Olympics in London, where he scored in a memorable 2-2 match against Honduras.

Barrada’s career and contributions to both club and country are remembered fondly, leaving a lasting legacy in football.

He was living in France, where he reportedly suffered a sudden heart attack, according to The Mirror UK.
