The news was shared on Instagram by fellow gospel actor and producer, Oluwaseun Adejumobi, who expressed sadness at the passing of his friend and colleague.

He wrote, “Heavens’s Gain Again. General Has Gone to rest”.

Baba Gbenro, beloved by fans for his role in Abattoir, was also a key figure in gospel filmmaking.

He founded Calvary Movies Drama Ministry in Ogbomoso, Nigeria, and served as the CEO of Calvary Movies Television, dedicating his career to spreading the gospel through film.

Following the announcement, many fans and well-wishers took to his last Instagram post, shared just six days ago, to pay their respects and express their shock at his sudden departure.
