Gov Fubara approves N85,000 minimum wage for Rivers workers
The Rivers State Government has approved a new minimum wage of N85,000 for civil servants in the state.
This decision was announced by the Head of Service, George Nwaeke, after a closed-door meeting between Governor Siminalayi Fubara, labour leaders, and senior government officials.
Nwaeke confirmed that the new wage will be implemented immediately. Chukwu Emecheta, Chairman of the Joint Negotiation Team, praised Governor Fubara for fulfilling the expectations of the state’s workforce.
Similarly, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Chairman for Rivers State, Alex Agwanwor, noted that the increased wage would significantly alleviate the financial challenges faced by workers in the state.
