Gov. Makinde backs Damagum, declares support for Edo PDP candidate Ighodalo
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has assured the National Working Committee (NWC) Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Illiya Damagum, of his unwavering support in efforts to reposition the party.
Makinde gave this assurance on Wednesday in Ibadan during the groundbreaking ceremony for the upgrade of Ladoke Akintola Airport to international standards.
He emphasized his commitment to backing any decisions made by the Damagum-led NWC to strengthen the party.
“Even if we have internal disagreements, now is not the time for conflict,” Makinde stated.
“We have a critical election this Saturday in Edo State, and our focus should be on rallying together to secure victory for our candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo.”
Addressing his absence from the PDP’s campaign grand finale in Benin, the governor explained that he had prior engagements in Finland and Sweden, which conflicted with the campaign schedule. Despite this, he declared his full support for Ighodalo and urged Edo residents to vote for him in the upcoming governorship election.
