Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has announced the approval of a new minimum wage of N80,000 for workers in the state, effective October 2024.

He made the announcement through his official X account on Thursday, bringing relief and optimism to public workers in Enugu.

This move marks a significant development in improving the welfare of the state’s workforce, demonstrating Mbah’s commitment to enhancing living conditions and addressing economic challenges faced by civil servants.

“I have just approved a minimum wage of N80,000 for Enugu workers, effective October 2024.

“We appreciate the hard work and sacrifices of the state’s workforce and will continue to prioritise their welfare in line with our campaign promises,” he wrote.

The decision follows similar moves in other states.
