Gov Okpebholo appoints six new officials to key positions

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has announced the appointment of six individuals to serve in critical roles within his administration.

The appointments were made public in a statement by Fred Itua, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, on Friday in Benin City. These appointments will be effective from November 15, 2024.

The newly appointed officials are:

1. Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu: Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). Dr. Iyamu holds a B.Sc. and an MBA from the University of Benin and a Doctorate in Petroleum Resources from the European American University. He is an experienced leader with a background in security, business administration, and human resources. An alumnus of Oxford University’s Said Business School, he also holds a Professional Doctorate in Leadership and Management from City University of Paris. Previously, he was the CEO of Gabbem Integrated Services Ltd.

2. Lucky Enehita-Inegbenehi: Managing Director, State Waste Management Board. Enehita-Inegbenehi earned his B.Sc. in Human Resources and an M.Sc. in Strategic Leadership and Governance from the University of Cape Coast. With a solid foundation in leadership and human resources, he was formerly the CEO of JEI Visions Iron Metals, JEI Visions Service Apartments, and JEI Visions Cleaning Services.

3. CP Friday Ibadin (Rtd.): State Corps Commander, Edo State Security Corps Governance. CP Ibadin is a retired Nigeria Police officer with 35 years of service, including international experience with the United Nations Mission in Kosovo. He holds degrees in Philosophy and Law, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007, and is a member of the African Centre for Crime Prevention Research Studies in Cairo, Egypt.

4. Stainless M.I. Ijeghede: Managing Director, Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA). Ijeghede has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and had a distinguished career in the petroleum sector, notably in Well Engineering and Safety at Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria Ltd. He retired from Shell after a successful tenure.

5. Sir (Dr.) Lucky Eseigbe: Managing Director, Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency. Eseigbe holds both LL.B and LL.M degrees from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. He previously served as a Legislative Aide, Legal Adviser, and Consultant to various members of the National Assembly from 2007 to November 2024.

6. Engr. Emmanuel Ehidiamen Okoebor: Commissioner of Finance-designate. Okoebor, born on October 21, 1972, has a Civil Engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Benin. He has over 25 years of banking experience, having held significant roles at Standard Trust Bank and United Bank of Africa (UBA), where he rose to Assistant General Manager and currently serves as a Regional Manager overseeing 15 business offices. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN.

Governor Okpebholo’s administration has emphasized that these appointments are aimed at bolstering governance and driving reforms across Edo State.
