Gov Sanwo-Olu donates N10m to LASU best graduating student
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded Olaniyi Olawale, the overall best student at Lagos State University (LASU), a sum of N10 million.
The statement was made on Thursday at the university’s 27th Convocation and 40th Anniversary Celebration in Lagos.
Olaniyi Olawale, who graduated from the Department of Accounting Education, achieved an impressive cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.98 in the 2022–2023 academic session.
Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “FLASH: Governor of Lagos State, Mr. #jidesanwoolu has announced a token of N10m for the overall best graduating student of Lagos State University (#LASUOfficial), Olaniyi Mubaraq Olawale, Accounting Education, who graduated with a CGPA of 4.98.”
The announcement was part of the grand finale of the 27th Convocation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in LASU’s history and celebrating the exceptional achievements of its students.
