Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has hailed the graduation of 587 police constables from the Police Training School in Ilorin as a significant step in strengthening Nigeria’s national security.

The constables graduated as part of the 2022 Recruit Constable Intake during a passing-out parade held on Thursday.

Egbetokun, represented by the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, emphasized that the event reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to reinforcing the Nigeria Police Force through consistent recruitment and training.

He noted that the graduation marked the successful conclusion of a challenging training journey for the recruits, who had been among 10,000 trainees across various police training schools nationwide.

The IGP commended the recruits for their discipline, resilience, and dedication throughout their training.

He urged them to uphold the rule of law and remain committed to values such as courage, fairness, and professionalism as they embark on their duties.

“The recruitment and training of 10,000 police recruits reflect our collective resolve to prioritise the security of lives and property across the country.

“The Force is focused on adopting innovative strategies to combat crime, ensure the safety of citizens, and strengthen public trust.

“Let me emphasise that the uniform you wear is not merely a symbol of authority; it is a representation of service, sacrifice, and responsibility,” he said.
