Gunmen abduct Ex-NLC President, Shamang in Kaduna

Mr. Takai Shamang, a former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has been abducted in his hometown, Biniki, situated in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

Between 1982 and 1989, Shamang, who is now 78 years old, served as the President General of the National Union of Electricity and Gas Workers, which is now known as the National Union of Electricity Employees.

Mrs. Grace Abbin, his daughter, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that her 78-year-old father was abducted at his residence in Biniki at about 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Shamang is the President and Founder of the Gantys Aid for Widows, Orphans, and Needy Foundation, which is also known as the GAWON Foundation.
