President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has dismissed speculations of a fallout between himself and President Bola Tinubu, describing the president as his father and leader.

Speaking to reporters after a closed-door meeting with Tinubu in Lagos on Sunday, Sanwo-Olu said there was no disagreement between them.

“There is nothing at all; he is my father, he is my leader, and we’re grateful that he has given us audience today,” the governor stated.

The meeting, held at the president’s residence in Ikoyi, followed recent public events that fueled rumours of tension between both men, including Sanwo-Olu’s absence at a major road project inauguration and an incident where Tinubu appeared to sidestep him while greeting other dignitaries.

The governor’s latest remarks appear aimed at putting the speculations to rest.
