Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist at Access Bank’s contact centre in Oniru, Lagos, has been exposed for secretly recording female colleagues in the restroom.

The incident reportedly took place around 1:30 am on Wednesday, according to sources who spoke to the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ).

Insiders revealed that Ejezie was caught after a female staff member noticed a phone recording her while she was bathing inside the restroom.

When the cubicle door was forced open, Ejezie was found hiding inside.

He allegedly claimed ignorance about how he ended up there but could not explain the ongoing video recording.

Following the discovery, Ejezie was arrested, and his home was later searched by the police.

Reports said over 400 videos of male and female staff members, many of them either bathing or n*k£d, were recovered from his laptop.

Sources claimed he had been selling these videos online through platforms like OnlyFans and Telegram, with most of his customers said to be foreigners.

Though Access Bank has reportedly terminated his appointment, many of the affected workers expressed doubts about getting proper justice.

One contract staff member suggested that their status within the company might prevent serious action from being taken, stating, “Perhaps it is because we are contract staff.”

Interestingly, when Journalists checked Ejezie’s LinkedIn profile on Friday morning, it still listed Access Bank as his employer.

However, by the afternoon, he had updated it to indicate he was no longer with the bank.

Ejezie joined Access Bank in February 2023 and was promoted to a quality assurance specialist by October.

Former co-workers described him as a calm and diligent employee, with one saying, “No one would have suspected something like this from him.”

In response to the incident, Access Bank reportedly held a meeting on Friday, warning staff against sleeping overnight at the office and threatening jail terms for future misconduct.

However, this decision only heightened workers’ fears about the lack of meaningful support for the victims. “There’s no real support offered,” a source said.

“Many are traumatised already. Some people don’t even know they were recorded. This could affect their futures, careers, and even politics.”

As of the time of filing this report, Access Bank had not responded to Journalists’s request for comment.
