How I slept in Dangote Cement Factory on Natasha’s wedding night – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that he spent the night at the Dangote Cement factory in Obajana, Kogi State, on the day of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s wedding.
Akpabio made this statement on Thursday during a plenary session at the National Assembly while addressing his relationship with Natasha’s family. He described her husband as a close friend, emphasizing that his presence at their wedding demonstrated his bond with the family.
“I slept in Dangote Cement factory in Obajana, Kogi State, on the night of Senator Natasha’s wedding because the Kogi airport lights were in a poor state,” Akpabio stated.
His remarks came amid the controversy surrounding the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions’ recommendation to suspend Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months.
The committee had advised that the Kogi Central senator apologize to the Senate for allegedly disrespecting the institution. During the suspension, she will lose her salary, security details, and access to the National Assembly premises.
The Senate adopted the committee’s recommendations, leading to Akpabio’s formal announcement of her suspension.
