‘I do not have cancer’ – Actress Mercy Johnson reveals

Award-winning Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has responded to the viral circulation of an old video revealing her past health scare involving cancer.

The clip, which recently resurfaced online, reignited public speculation regarding the actress’s noticeable weight loss.

In the video, Mercy disclosed that she had undergone surgery to remove her thyroid following a cancer scare and that she has since been placed on lifelong medication.

As discussions about her health gained traction, the actress has now stepped forward to clarify the context of the video. According to Mercy, the viral clip was taken out of context and misinterpreted due to how it was edited.

According to the mother of four, the cancer scare revealed in the clip pertained to her neck, and expressed gratitude to fans for their concerns.

“Thank you so much for all of your calls and your messages. The clip was cut. I said I’ve a cancer scare means that I’ve this swelling on my neck”, She stated.

Thank you. I do appreciate it so much. But I do not have cancer. I noticed that a clip from my TV show, Message Menu, has been flying around. And I think it was cut.

“They cut the clip. I said I had a cancer scare. It means that I had this swelling on my neck. If you can see the line there. And my doctor felt it was something serious. I had problems with my thyroid. I’m perfectly okay. Thank you so much for all of your calls and your messages.”
