I’m receiving treatment at Psychiatric Hospital, Portable says amid police manhunt

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that he is currently receiving medical care at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, amid an ongoing police search for him.
Portable’s revelation follows the Ogun State Police Command’s decision to declare him wanted over an alleged attack on officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development at Odogwu Bar, Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
The police, in a statement via X (formerly Twitter), urged the public to provide information on his whereabouts, warning that anyone found aiding or harboring him would face legal consequences.
However, in a series of videos shared on Instagram, Portable denied wrongdoing, pleading with Governor Dapo Abiodun and Nigerians for support. He also disclosed that he has a medical history at Aro Psychiatric Hospital, where he receives treatment.
“I fear government. I am a federal government liability. I am a madman; I take my medications, and I have a card from Aro Hospital confirming I am their patient.”
The singer further claimed that spiritual forces were behind his troubles, alleging that some people were targeting him because of his property acquisitions.
Portable has made repeated public apologies, but the Ogun State Police Command remains firm on its stance to arrest him.
