Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has expressed gratitude for the support he received from former First Lady Patience Jonathan, while asserting that the ex-first family did not shape his political career.

Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Wike acknowledged Jonathan’s role in his political journey, particularly her support during his appointment as Minister of State for Education from July 2011 to April 2014.

Wike stated, “It would be unfair before the Almighty God to say that Patience Jonathan never supported me. I don’t have the blood to say somebody who supported me did not.”

However, he was clear in emphasizing that his political ascent was not solely attributed to the Jonathan family.
