JUST-IN: Court orders Yahaya Bello to appear for arraignment
On Tuesday, the Court of Appeal directed former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to appear for arraignment without delay.
The court also prohibited Bello from taking any further action in the case until he has been formally arraigned.
Additionally, the court nullified the previous judgment delivered by the Kogi State High Court.
Bello has been out of sight since the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) attempted to arrest him during a raid on his Abuja residence a few months ago.
Governor Usman Ododo had intervened, obstructing the EFCC’s efforts to detain Bello.
The EFCC is currently prosecuting Bello for alleged misappropriation of over N80 billion during his eight-year tenure as governor.
