JUST-IN: Official data shows UK’s economy was stagnated in April
According to preliminary data from the Office for National Statistics, the UK economy did not increase in April.
This follows a 0.4 percent increase in March. A Reuters survey of economists predicted this slowdown, citing inclement weather’s detrimental impact on retail sales and construction output.
The ONS report, the last GDP update before the election, revealed that April’s rainfall was 155 per cent above the long-term average.
