Kebbi Police gun down kidnappers, recover cash, ammunition

The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the elimination of four kidnappers who stormed Gobiraje village in Suru Local Government Area and abducted a 60-year-old man, Umar Bawa.
In a statement, the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, revealed that security operatives launched a pursuit, tracking the criminals to Tudunfari Forest in Dakin Gari. A fierce gun battle ensued, resulting in the neutralization of four kidnappers.
“Four of the kidnappers were neutralized, one was arrested, and the ransom of three million naira was recovered,” Abubakar stated.
The operation also led to the recovery of a large cache of ammunition, while the kidnapped victim was rescued unhurt due to the firepower of the security forces.
The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, M. Bello, commended the gallantry of the security personnel involved in the operation.
He assured residents that the onslaught against criminal elements, especially armed groups, would continue until peace is fully restored.
Bello also appealed to the public to provide accurate information to assist the police in tackling criminal activities across the state.
