In a thrilling finish to the King’s Cup final, Al Nassr’s top player Cristiano Ronaldo was spotted in tears after his team was upset 5-4 on penalties by Al Hilal on Friday.
This devastating defeat means that Ronaldo’s Al Nassr will end the season without a trophy.
Al Hilal celebrated a league and cup double after the tightly contested match in Jeddah, which ended 1-1 following regulation and extra time.
The match saw early excitement when Aleksandar Mitrovic scored for Al Hilal in the seventh minute. Al Nassr fought back with Aiman Yahya equalizing in the 88th minute.
The heated game saw three red cards: David Ospina of Al Nassr was dismissed in the 57th minute, while Ali Al-Bulayhi and Kalidou Koulibaly of Al Hilal were sent off later in the match.
The hero of the night was Al Hilal’s goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who saved Al Nassr’s final two penalties, sealing the victory and the trophy for his team.
