Man allegedly machete mother, sister to dead in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a man, Victor Lorjaal, for allegedly murdering his mother, Mrs. Victoria Lorjaal, and his elder sister, Brenda Lorjaal, with a machete.

Police spokesperson, SP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the tragic incident in a statement on Thursday, revealing that it happened on Tuesday around 7:10 a.m. at a farm in Aba Ile camp, Itaji-Ekiti.

According to an eyewitness, who is also a child of the deceased, he and the suspect were working together on the farm when Victor suddenly left him and went to where their mother and sister were. Moments later, he heard their mother’s desperate cries for help.

By the time the eyewitness reached the scene, the suspect had already attacked the victims and fled with the machete.

Abutu stated, “The Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident. The suspect will be charged to court immediately after the completion of the investigation.”

The police have assured the public that justice will be served.
